Karen Harper Announces Candidacy for Saanich Council
Saanich, BC – July 5, 2017 – Karen Harper, a dedicated community and business leader and longtime Saanich resident, has announced her candidacy for Saanich Council in the upcoming 2017 municipal by-election.
Fiscally Challenging Times Require Fiscal Expertise
Amid increasing concerns about providing municipal services in the most transparent and fiscally accountable way possible, Karen brings the experience required to achieve desirable results for Saanich residents.
"Working with an exceptional executive team at the BC Pension Corporation, I dedicated the last 10 years of my working life to creating and managing an effective, efficient, and accountable service-oriented organization. My experience demonstrates what can be accomplished in the public sector when there is a willingness to look at things differently.”
A More Respectful Approach
Karen believes that respect is essential to move Saanich forward. She will bring the same approach that she employed as a successful professional and community advocate to her role as a Saanich Councillor.
"I’ve spoken to many Saanich residents and have heard many concerns, particularly with regard to affordability in Saanich. I will work to ensure their voices are heard in this byelection and throughout my term as a councillor, should I be elected.”
